Release ManagerAs a Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the release management process within our digital banking environment.
This includes coordinating releases, collaborating across teams, and ensuring quality, security, and minimal disruption to customers.
You will manage the entire release lifecycle from planning through deployment and post-release validation, ensuring that each release meets our high standards and aligns with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Planning and Scheduling:Coordinate with stakeholders to define and execute release strategies.
Manage release planning meetings and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned on timelines and deliverables.
Release Coordination:Oversee the execution of each release cycle, including managing the planning, build, testing, deployment, and post-release activities.
Ensure that releases are on time, fulfilling quality, security and compliance requirements.
Risk Management:Identify potential risks during the release process and work with relevant teams to mitigate or resolve these risks.
Ensure that contingency plans are in place for each release.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Liaise between development teams, quality assurance, DevOps, security, and support teams to ensure smooth delivery and deployment of releases.
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated release processes.
Release Documentation:Maintain detailed records of release processes, schedules, issues, and outcomes.
Ensure that documentation is kept up to date for audits, compliance, and process improvement.
Process Improvement:Continuously review and refine the release management process to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance collaboration across teams.
Monitoring and Post-Release Support:Monitor the performance of the release post-deployment, working with the support teams to address any issues that may arise, and ensure smooth operational continuity.
Change Management:Work closely with the Change Management team to ensure that all releases are compliant with internal policies and procedures.
Ensure that releases follow all change management protocols, including risk assessments and impact analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in release management or similar role, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), release cycles, Agile and DevOps methodologies.
Strong technical knowledge of Java development & frameworks (e.g.
Sprint framework, Microservices architecture) and AWS architecture.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and deployment automation tools (e.g.
Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage pressure to meet deadlines.
