Core Duties
To provide optimum level of emergency care in order to ensure maximum health and social gain for all the patients who suffer accident and various sudden illness.
To consult, manage and treat patients to the level expected of a Medical Officer.
To do appropriate primary assessment, secondary assessment (triage) and immediate management of emergency patients; through history taking, examination and investigation.
Provide urgent medical services including resuscitation, stabilization, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral as necessary to patients.
Practicing prompt procedures and management of patients within the reasonable capability of a medical officer – recommending and, where appropriate, undertaking treatment options and carrying out / referring for appropriate interventions and procedures, including but not limited to prescribing, minor surgery and other general practice procedures, counselling, psychological interventions, advising and education.
Prescribe medications within the reasonable capability of a medical officer and inform patients of all possible risks, complications and interference with other medications they may be taking.
Qualification & Requirements
RecognizedMedical Degreefrom an accredited University.
Registered with Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
Attended/trainers in life support courses: ACLS / ALS, ATLS / MTLS, PALS / APLS, BLS, NRP and other relevant courses related to emergency care.
Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience in Accident & Emergency / primary health care.
Possess skills on all the procedures (Airway management, intravenous cannulation (IV line setting), blood taking, and catheterization).
