Overview: As a Purchasing Manager, the primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the purchasing activities within the resort. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards. The role will involve collaborating with suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and optimizing procurement processes. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with various departments within the resort to fulfill their purchasing needs.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures for the resort. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships with key vendors. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to ensure optimal purchasing decisions. Conduct cost analysis and price negotiations to achieve the best value for the resort. Manage supplier contracts, including renewals, modifications, and performance evaluations. Oversee inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of essential items while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts. Collaborate with various departments to determine their inventory needs and forecast future requirements. Implement inventory control measures to prevent shrinkage, spoilage, and obsolescence. Prepare and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial guidelines. Analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to reduce expenses. Monitor and control purchasing-related costs, such as shipping and taxes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier information. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in procurement/purchasing roles, preferably within the hospitality or resort industry. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiations, and supplier management. Familiarity with inventory management techniques and software. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
