About the DepartmentTheCredit and Risk Managementfunction is comprised of three teams: Risk Management, Credit and Special Asset Management. We manage the risks arising from the Group's business activities within the risk appetite established by the Board.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe jobholder is primarily responsible to conduct independent post approval credit review in accordance with UOBM requirements (referenced to Section 17 of BNM Credit Risk Policy), inter alia, to ensure that credit decision making remains consistent with the financial institution's overall credit risk management arrangements.
To conduct assessments on quality of credit risk assessment and rigour of credit approval processes.
Work with team to oversee and safeguard quality of Bank's loan portfolio (post approval) and enable effective oversight by Credit Management Committee (CMC).
To ensure that the outcomes of independent credit reviews are clearly documented and escalated directly to the Board Risk Committee, Board Audit Committee and senior management.
To ensure any requests from auditor/regulator and remediation of audit finding/recommendation on area of responsibilities are being handled in a timely manner.
To provide secretariat and coordination support for Group Credit Committee (GCC), In-country Credit Committee (ICCC) and Credit Management Committee (CMC).
Job RequirementsDegree holder with more than 8 years of related credit experience.
Diligent, yet agile and creative in developing ideas and solutions to problems.
Good team player, able to work as part of a dynamic, results oriented team.
Able to plan and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Confident and able to interact effectively with senior stakeholders.
Clear understanding of the various committees Terms of Reference.
Familiar with Wholesale & Retail Banking business model and products.
