About the role
We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Miri, Sarawak. As a full-time Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of workplace health and safety across our Air Conditioning & Refrigeration operations. This is a crucial role in supporting our commitment to providing a safe and compliant working environment for all our employees.
What you'll be doing Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazardsTo assist the Company in developing the safety policies in compliance with the OSH & FMA act & its regulations and consistent with the vision and safety objectives of the Company.To assist the Company in developing the safety policies in compliance with the OSH & FMA act & its regulations and consistent with the vision and safety objectives of the Company.To actively work with MR on compliance issues and prevention measures.
To attend internal and external auditor's queries.Responsible for implementing the requirements of the Safety Management System (site and
headquarters).Coordinate with Sub-Contractor on training courses where appropriate for any unfamiliar or hazardous operations being introduced onto the project and ensure the safety awareness remains high at all times.Implement and monitor safety policies, procedures and training programsInvestigate and document all incidents, accidents and near-missesTake pro-active measures to identify hazards, assess the risk and then implement suitable control measures to eliminate all dangers.Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standardsProvide safety guidance and support to managers and employeesMaintain detailed records and generate reports on safety performanceCollaborate with the broader team to continuously improve our safety cultureTo submit a Monthly Safety Report and Safety Statistic record for DOSH and HQ record;
Compile and submit NADOOPOD, JKKP 8, Monthly Safety & Health Report to relevant parties involved (Internal/External).Liaise with the DOSH, Police and other relevant government agencies with regard to health, safety and security matters affecting workers.To observe and/or maintain a diary detailing safety activity(s), hazardous works, housekeeping, safety instruction, etc. in place.Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, relevant stakeholders and the public using principles of good customer service.Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by superior.What we're looking for Valid Green Book holder registered with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)Minimum 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar roleThorough understanding of occupational health and safety legislation and best practicesStrong communication and training skills to effectively engage with employeesExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesProactive, organised and committed to maintaining a safe work environmentRelevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related fieldWhat we offer
