Position Overview:
Sales Manager – Is responsible for total sales and expenses for a specified geographical area, and assigned accounts. This team member is responsible for all Dairy business within a specified class of trade: "Grocery". From an expense perspective, is accountable for all regional sales related expense management including travel, overhead, promotion & advertising and broker commissions. This individual is responsible for managing a broker and distributor network within the assigned geographical area. The person will also actively work within the field to develop key markets and maintain a regular account review process.
Key Accountabilities:
Achieve targeted sales and expense budgets developed for the respective area of responsibility.
Review, evaluate, report results, and request support needed against specific sales objectives on a continuous basis.
Work closely with Sales Director, Sales Planning, and others within the organization to develop and execute strategic initiatives within area of responsibility (promotional plans, distribution initiatives, optimized assortment and new item launch execution, etc.)
Work closely with Sales Director and Sales Planner in the ongoing management and evaluation of trade spending efficiency.
Develop and deliver, in partnership with HQ Sales and Category Leadership teams, effective selling stories for customers.
Participate actively in the development and execution of regional marketing and field marketing strategies tools needed to support the business.
Manage and actively participate in all regional trade shows to maximize sales opportunities and event-related investment. Attend and actively work to maximize participation in national trade shows as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Minimum of 5 years of sales and sales management experience within the food industry. Multi-company background is strongly preferred. Experience in both direct sales and broker/distributor management is also preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.
Industry and channel knowledge is preferred.
Ability to operate effectively and contribute within a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
Leadership qualities a must.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the willingness to work within an established management group are required.
A high degree of self-initiative and the potential for continued growth in management are preferred.
Experience in an entrepreneurial smaller company will be considered an asset.
Requires the ability to flex schedule as needed to meet business demands, including nights and/or weekends.#J-18808-Ljbffr
