Evaluate credit applications submitted by Business Units and make appropriate recommendations to the board for approval.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluate credit applications submitted by Business Units and make appropriate recommendations to the Credit Committee and Management Committee for approval.
Vetting through of Board credit approval papers.
Approve credit applications submitted by Business Units and Credit Specialists within approving authority.
Highlight key and inherent risks otherwise not identified in a credit application:
Providing mitigating factors
Assessing expected level of profit for undertaking various credit risks
Communication with Business Unit to educate and instill credit culture, risk-return discipline, and adopt best practices in the assessment and restructuring of credit applications.
Ensure credit risk measures and credit risk profile are consistent and within the bank's minimum credit standards and policies.
Review (moderate) credit risk grades to reflect the loan quality and consistency vis-à-vis other loan assets.
Continuous development of tools and methodologies to focus on risk and return.
Provide independent reviews and analysis, as and when required, on the performance of loan portfolios outside GCM and provide appropriate recommendations and solutions.
Proactively detect deterioration in credit quality and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate and protect the bank's interests.
Observe and adhere to compliance regulatory requirements during the discharge of duties.
Supervise credit specialists.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Possess a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum experience of 10 - 15 years in managing credit including experience in credit evaluation and approval.
Exposure in Corporate credit.
Strong credit analytical skills.
Knowledge of industry, market, and general business.
Ability to negotiate with Business Unit on credit-related issues, loans, and financing.#J-18808-Ljbffr
