Senior Engineer, Product Development (Chassis - Automotive)Responsibilities:
Facilitate implementation of Supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Perform on-site supplier visits to confirm progress towards production readiness and assess risk.
Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
Escalate unresolved supplier related issues (timing, quality concerns, etc) to PMO and responsible stakeholders for next course of actions.
Assure incoming quality of components during prototype, pre-production and launch phases meet or exceed the required standards.
Assess the supplier's ability to produce to the quoted volumes, i.e run at rate evaluation requirements.
Review and approve supplier's PPAP.
Collect and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement within the supply chain.
Work with engineering, production engineering and suppliers as appropriate and create corrective action plans to address quality failures.
Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results.
Facilitate escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues.
Undertake relevant training and skill development to improve competency.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in any automotive/mechanical engineering or any relevant courses.
Minimum 5 years' experience in automotive and manufacturing.
Knowledge of automotive parts, system and suppliers.
Good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and GD&T is an added advantage.
