Job DescriptionYour contribution to something big!Reporting to the General Counsel of SEA who is based in Singapore, you will be the 6th member of a current team of 5 lawyers serving the ASEAN region, and a part of the global Corporate Legal Services function of Bosch.
This is an excellent opportunity for lawyers who wish to work with an established brand with presence across multiple jurisdictions.
Main Responsibilities: Provide general legal advice and support to Bosch business units and legal entities in Malaysia.
Provide general legal advise and support and act as lead ASEAN regional lawyer for 1 or 2 business units across South East Asian countriesPotentially provide secondary support for Indonesian business/entities.Identify and manage legal risks, litigation and disputes, including debt recovery matters.
Provide internal training on legal matters, including compliance with competition law and keep abreast of the significant changes in law impacting the business.
Draft and negotiate long term supply contracts, distribution agreements, product trial agreements, sponsorship agreements, e-commerce agreements etc.Instruct and liaise with external counsel and corporate secretarial service providers for ongoing compliance with corporate law and to set up new business units/activities in Malaysia; manage services providers and related costs.Manage projects and undertake other duties as assigned by the General Counsel SEA, including providing legal support to business units in other South East Asian countries from time to time.QualificationsWhat distinguishes you!Passed the bar exam and qualified to practice as an advocate and solicitor under Malaysian law.
Candidates with overseas legal qualifications in addition to local qualifications will be favorably regarded.Excellent command of the English and Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia languages (both spoken and written)At least 6 years of relevant legal experience in corporate, contracts and litigation gained at a reputable law firm in Malaysia, ideally with some exposure dealing with regulatory matters / audits.In-house legal experience, particularly in multi-national corporations, with prior work experience on legal matters in other ASEAN countries (especially Indonesia) will be well regarded.Experience in a few of the following areas of law will be an advantage: technology, manufacturing and product liability, privacy and cybersecurity, M&A, intellectual property, environmental, anti-trust (competition) laws.Good business acumen, resourceful, possess initiative, drive and flexibility to deliver value to the business.Good time management, organizational and project management skills, able to prioritize and work effectively under pressure.
