Responsibilities:
Lead policymaking and development of innovation related to digital assets in the Malaysian capital market.
Conduct market scans to identify DA innovations, and perform research and analysis to generate insights for policy recommendations on product initiatives and policy deliberation. Become a subject-matter expert in relevant innovation topics (Digital Assets and Blockchain application in the capital market).
Digital Assets Policy Development:
Develop digital asset policies for issuance, trading, and custody, as well as dealing with digital assets – for crypto-assets and tokenized securities. Lead policy development of certain activities/domain.
Asset Tokenization Pilot Working Groups:
Co-drive asset tokenization pilots – conduct research (use cases, policy) and provide industry insights to support discussions, plan, and coordinate execution.
Scan DA Innovation:
Constantly scan for the latest innovations in DA, and perform research and analysis to generate insights for policy recommendations.
Support DA Ecosystem and Stakeholders Engagement:
Prepare briefing materials/notes for senior management's DA discussions.
Liaise with relevant working teams to gather inputs and sync directions.
Represent SC to speak and participate in DA industry events/roundtables/working groups.
Support DA Player and Product Processing:
Participate in specific working groups to assess novel DA business models.
Research market best practices and regulatory benchmarking to support management's decision-making.
Others:
Oversee and coach team members in allocated tasks to achieve KPIs and departmental goals.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or any relevant discipline from a recognized university.
At least 6 years of working experience.
Experience in the finance industry, especially digital finance/fintech/consulting/public policy desired. Experience in the capital market is a strong plus.
Good understanding of emerging innovation trends, e.g., Distributed Ledger Technology within the capital market.
Strong curiosity and fast learner to grasp emerging innovations, and able to derive underlying social/political/economical factors driving such changes.
Good background in both quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate with other teams.
