Job Summary
ThePlant Engineerplays a critical role in the maintenance department, focusing on implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and optimize manufacturing processes.
The role involves managing spare parts, driving process improvements, and leading special projects, including facility design and expansion.
The Plant Engineer also oversees energy management, CAPEX project execution, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and safety compliance within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability
Lead the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of manufacturing equipment and systems.
Develop, implement, and manage the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
Ensure all TPM tasks are completed on schedule; report discrepancies to management.
Update the TPM system to address critical tools, equipment, and machines, ensuring maintenance plans remain relevant.
Collaborate with planning and department heads (HODs) to coordinate major TPM tasks with minimal production disruption.

Spare Parts Management
Maintain inventory of spare parts, ensuring availability of critical components.
Implement a tracking system for spare parts usage and maintain accurate documentation.
Coordinate with vendors for timely procurement and cost-effective sourcing of spare parts.
Audit spare parts inventory levels regularly to prevent overstocking or shortages.
Enforce proper storage, handling, and usage controls for spare parts to minimize waste and loss.

Process Improvement
Identify and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Collaborate with the production team to optimize manufacturing workflows.
Lead cost-reduction and safety improvement projects.
4.
Project Management
Plan and execute engineering projects, including new equipment installations and system upgrades.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
5.
Special Projects Coordination
Lead and coordinate facility-related projects, including design, renovation, and expansion, as assigned by management.
Collaborate with project leaders to align projects with operational goals and compliance requirements.
Prepare project plans, timelines, and budgets while ensuring minimal operational disruption.
6.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards for all equipment and processes.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate documentation related to safety, maintenance, and engineering activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in plant engineering, equipment maintenance, and TPM implementation.
Strong knowledge of spare parts management and inventory systems.
Experience in project management, including facility expansion and CAPEX execution.
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in manufacturing environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to lead teams and coordinate across multiple departments effectively.
