Position Summary: Senior Staff Reliability Engineer responsible for Reliability activities supporting new product development for Lumileds.
What You Will Do: Be the advocate for reliability in the product design process. Includes closely working with product development engineers, and participation in design reviews, technical risk assessments, Design and Process FMEA activities, lifetime predictions, and customer quality support.Interpret industry standards for LED applications and verify that our test processes are complying with those standards.Assess and qualify external reliability laboratories, as well as subcontractor reliability labs, to ensure they meet the necessary standards and requirements.Write Reliability test plans using risk analysis and accelerated test methods to evaluate new materials, LED packaging, and novel LED products.Work with worldwide R&D and PD teams using Design for Reliability (DfR) methods to develop design rules which can be applied across product families.Contribute creative solutions to technical challenges. Mentor and coach junior engineers in developing their technical expertise. Analyze and interpret data from suite of reliability stress conditions and make recommendations to technology and product development teams.Develop reliability models based on accelerated test data to predict product performance and lifetime at customer use conditions.Works with Failure Analysis team to investigate reliability failures and determine failure root cause.Work cross-functionally with Technology and Product Development, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams.Engage with Reliability Operations for test system development and optimization.Create customer-facing reports and technical responses to customers. What You Will Bring (Education) Education (Minimum Level) Bachelor's Field of Study Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields with CGPA 3.0 and above What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications): 10+ years' experience in electronics or associated industry in Reliability Engineering.Proven experience with complicated systems and knowledge of how component interactions impact the overall product performance and reliability. Experience with reliability equipment, stress condition set-up, datalogging, troubleshooting.Knowledge of industry standards and their applications: JEDEC, MIL-STD, IEC, AECISO / IEC 17025, IES LM-80 or TM-21-11Reliability modeling of electronic or mechanical systems experienceAbility to work independently with minimum guidanceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to succeed in a fast-paced environment and works efficiently under pressureCertified Reliability Engineer (CRE).Proven extensive experience in qualifying external reliability labs and subcontractor reliability labs.
