Main Objectives of this position: Responsible for managing the stock levels and movement of empty equipment across Southeast Asia to ensure timely availability for customers. The role includes leading, coaching, and supporting the equipment management team while ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance with company policies. The Manager will liaise with internal departments, vendors, and customers to resolve equipment-related issues and streamline processes. This position is also responsible for vendor management, process improvements, and staff training.Function and duties: Oversee and manage empty equipment stock levels throughout the area to ensure timely availability for customer shipmentsGuide, coach, and support the Equipment department, ensuring the team is well-equipped to handle daily operations.Liaise with internal departments to coordinate the timely movement and availability of equipment across depots and terminals.Develop and implement action plans to address equipment imbalance issues and optimize the distribution of equipment.Analyze vendor performance, set benchmarks, and implement corrective actions to ensure service levels meet company expectationsEnsure that company systems are updated accurately and promptly to reflect equipment movements, inventory levels, and operational changesAssist customers and vendors in resolving operational and claims issues related to equipment availability and movementMeasure and monitor staff workload to ensure the most effective processes are in place, maximizing productivity and resource allocationProvide training for staff on new systems, regulations, and operational requirements to ensure the team remains updated and compliantEnsure consistent application of company policies across all actions within the department, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standardsQualifications and Technical Job Requirements: University Degree or Diploma in Marine Studies, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.Preferably 5-7 years of experience in equipment management, logistics, or container shipping operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.Strong understanding of equipment management principles, including stock level management, inventory tracking, and equipment repositioning across depots and terminalsFamiliarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes for equipment movement and inventory updatesFluent in written and spoken EnglishExcellent communication and negotiation skills Knowledgeable in MS Office applications With a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to work systematically under pressure
