Job Summary: The Shipping, Logistics, and Quantity Manager will oversee the efficient transportation of used cooking oil from depots in Malaysia and internationally to the company's head office. This role requires an in-depth understanding of regulatory compliance and documentation for cross-border shipments. The candidate will be responsible for managing costs, ensuring contract fulfillment, and minimizing risks such as additional fees or penalties during transshipment. A key focus is on meeting client requirements, ensuring accuracy in quantity, and maintaining delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end logistics for the transport of used cooking oil from depots in Malaysia and international locations to the head office.Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements for moving used cooking oil, including environmental and customs regulations.Prepare, review, and maintain all necessary documentation for shipments, including permits, customs declarations, and shipping manifests.Coordinate with shipping and logistics providers to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products in line with client contracts.Oversee the fulfillment of contractual obligations to clients, ensuring on-time deliveries, accurate quantities, and adherence to quality standards.Manage and control costs associated with shipping and logistics operations, ensuring no additional or penalty charges during transshipment or cross-border movement of the oil.Oversee quantity tracking, ensuring accurate measurement and reporting of used cooking oil volumes during transportation.Optimize transportation processes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency, including route planning and freight negotiations.Proactively manage and address issues related to shipping delays, cost overruns, or regulatory penalties, minimizing risk to the business.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure logistics operations align with client contracts and overall business objectives.Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, shipping companies, and regulatory bodies.Identify opportunities for continuous improvements in logistics processes to enhance service quality and contract fulfillment.Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards in all shipping operations.Any other duties assigned by the HOD / Directors.Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.5-7 years of experience in logistics, shipping management, and cost control, preferably in the commodity or oil industry.Experience managing both domestic and international shipments with a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks.Proven track record of managing cost efficiency, avoiding penalties, and ensuring smooth transshipment operations.Skills:
Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and environmental compliance for transporting used cooking oil.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in handling shipment documentation, cost management, and contract execution.Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.Strong problem-solving skills to quickly address and resolve shipping or cost-related issues.Strong communication and negotiation skills to work with external partners, clients, and regulatory agencies.
