Job Description: 1.
Process Development: Design and develop SMT processes for the efficient assembly of electronic components onto PCBs.
Develop requirement specifications, system concepts, detail drawings, and BOMs.
Create layouts for complex assemblies and detailed parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
Develop and implement changes to product design and/or the manufacturing process to achieve efficiency, quality, and/or cost improvements.

Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve SMT production processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize defects.
Collaborate with production teams to trouble-shoot problems, manage upgrades, set-ups, develop methods development and process parameters.
Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA).
Identify the root cause of technical issues and implement process improvements.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to SMT processes to ensure the production of high-quality electronic assemblies.
Investigate and resolve quality issues in production processes to maintain high standards.

Training and Documentation: Provide training to production personnel on SMT processes, equipment operation, and best practices to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process instruction, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and work instruction for SMT operations.

Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in SMT processes.
Implement initiatives to optimize material utilization, minimize waste, and reduce production costs.

Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management.
Job Requirements: Candidate must possess a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in SMT process development and optimization within the electronics manufacturing industry, preferably 3 years or above of experience in SMT.
Strong knowledge of SMT equipment, technology and processes.
Familiarity with CAD software for designing and detailing parts and assemblies.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Hands-on role requiring regular interaction with the production floor and engineering teams.
Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia in both verbal and written communication.
