Job Description SummaryThe Special Process Engineer is responsible for providing support and technical leadership on maintaining current repair processes for maintenance Aircraft Engine components.
The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership ability by ensuring repair processes meet quality requirements, EHS regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:
Act as Special Process Owner as defined in company procedure.
Provide operational and technical leadership on repair processes as well as improving existing processes in the shop.
Prepare and control Process Documents applicable to repair process area as per GEESM internal procedure.
Review and approve all Repair routers/Process Sheets, consumables, and Equipment related to Welding and Heat Treatment.
Responsible for undertaking the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs.
Initiate, identify, recommend, and lead projects in the area of responsibility to improve product safety, quality, and cost.
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities, lead improvement projects, and problem-solving events, and resolve equipment/downtime issues.
Other relevant duties as assigned by superior.Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Material Science Engineering.
A minimum of 7 years' experience in areas related to Manufacturing/MRO industry.
Non-Aviation industry experience may also be considered.
Essential (Must Have) theoretical and practical knowledge/experience inWelding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Heat Treatment processes.
Prior experience in the area of R&D or New Product Introduction Initiatives.
Solid critical thinking skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict, communicate issues, and propose solutions to stakeholders).
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
Demonstrated ability to utilize Route Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) to identify and analyze problems.Desired Characteristics:
