Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans the development activities for a new product development team.
Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
Participates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
Regularly interacts with executives/senior managers and/or major customers.
Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through other department managers and/or technical leads.Coordinates the system level analysis of interfaces, including mechanical, electrical, software and firmware.Typically, will also manage a specific engineering discipline team, in addition to leading a project or program.May also coordinate the delivery of customer requested specials ensuring overall system level performance of the modifications/custom features.Other duties may be assigned as required.Education and Experience RequirementsRequires Bachelors or Master's University degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering, plus 10 or more years of management experience.Preferred Skills and AbilitiesExperience in machine automation, motion control, robotic system design.Demonstrated negotiation, relationship management, facilitation, and decision-making skills.Ability to establish and maintain high level relationships with end customers.Broad experience and practical application of system level interface determination and specificationStrategic and critical thinking abilities, strong analytical skills, and financial acumen.Proven leadership skills including team building, collaborating, accountability, strategic and innovative thinking.Strong decision-making skills in response to high pressure situations.Strong project management skills with ability to plan sequence of events, assess critical path, and actively develop mitigationsResults oriented approach focused on developing and building high performance teams.Proven leadership skills including team building, collaborating, accountability, strategic and innovative thinking.Strong decision-making skills in response to high pressure situations.Ability to manage effectively at all levels, communicate a clear and compelling vision and influence others to support timely achievement of initiatives and goals.Global leader: ability to develop talent and high engagement across multiple countries and team settings.
