Professional Services Engineer - Optical Telecoms & Network Deployment
Location:MalaysiaWork Model:Hybrid - Home Office with Travel to Infinera & Customer Sites.Infinera Professional Services Engineers are highly skilled individuals who have expert knowledge of all Infinera products and applications.
These engineers provide the first point of contact for Infinera customers for all Services and Support activities.
In addition, the Professional Services engineers work closely with Infinera partners, EF&I, SLTE, TAC, Account team, all other Infinera departments and directly with the customer to ensure that our customers receive the World Class Infinera Support.Key Responsibilities:Proficient in all supported releases of Infinera products.Proficient in presenting a demonstration to customers of the Infinera Equipment.Provide technical assistance to Infinera customers from product trial through implementation.Manage operational aspects of customer trials and deployment including:Resolving customer-identified problems.Generating Ops review reports and delivering Ops reviews to the customer.Driving customer interests within Infinera.Communicating to HQ.Providing technical expertise to local account teams.Plan, manage and execute SOW/contract deliverables for Infinera Professional Services offerings.Assist in customer-specific test plans.Customer management of high visibility technical issues.Lead in technical meetings with customers.Type Approval Testing (TAT) for SW releases.Lab trials and field trials.Audit and present customer operations reviews.Providing onsite support during deployment to ensure customers easily integrate Infinera into their operations.Playing an active role in kick-off meetings to ensure customers are covered for all aspects of Operations – Training, Service Logistics, TAC, etc.Writing of Method of Procedures (MOP) for technical activities.Act as a sales representative of technical services, providing solutions to technical queries of clients, marketing services, and attending customer meetings.Work in tandem with Business Development to analyze the success of the services solution and eliminate solution gaps.Providing quotes for services.Working with partners to deliver services to Infinera customers.Assisting sales to convey the benefit of Infinera Professional Services.Position Requirements:Excellent communication skills, technical knowledge, and services requirement identifications.In-depth knowledge of physical and logical network designs, teamwork, and organizational skills.Business Level German & English.Provide operations review and professional services solutions to customers using PowerPoint, whiteboarding, and presentation of material.Superior technical competence in troubleshooting real-time embedded software, optical and digital hardware, and network management systems.Strong technical background in long-haul or inter-office optical networking technologies, including DWDM/SONET/SDH and high-speed Ethernet.TCP/IP experience required with emphasis on the following protocols: OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, GMPLS, and P2P.Experience with Datacenter Interconnects & Enterprise Networks.Experience with Layer 2 and 3 required.Strong technical background testing or supporting NM/OSS software using XML, CORBA, TL-1, or SNMP.Experience with long-haul optical networking physical layer hardware and deployment of submarine long-haul networks.Knowledge of SLTE.Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or extensive experience demonstrating success and growth while supporting or testing high-speed optical networking products for the service provider market.Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
