Key Responsibilities :
Inventory Management : Maintain an accurate record of stock levels and ensure proper stock control procedures are followed. Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock is replenished in a timely manner. Conduct regular stock-taking and ensure the accuracy of inventory records. Receiving Goods : Inspect incoming goods for quality, quantity, and specifications against delivery orders or invoices. Log and store items systematically and ensure proper labeling for easy identification. Report any discrepancies or damage to the appropriate department. Issuing Goods : Prepare orders and issue materials to relevant departments or customers based on requests. Ensure that issued goods are recorded and tracked properly to maintain accurate inventory records. Storage and Organization : Organize the warehouse/store efficiently to ensure easy access to items. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the storage areas. Follow safety standards to ensure the safe handling and storage of goods, including hazardous materials. Documentation and Record-Keeping : Maintain records of all transactions (goods received, issued, and returned). Update inventory management systems regularly to ensure accurate data. Prepare reports on inventory status, orders, and shortages. Procurement Coordination : Work with purchasing departments to ensure timely ordering of products to avoid stockouts. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for price negotiations and deliveries. Loss Prevention : Implement loss prevention measures to safeguard the store/warehouse against theft, pilferage, or wastage. Monitor stock levels and identify any discrepancies or trends that could indicate losses. Health and Safety : Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures for handling materials. Conduct regular safety checks in the store/warehouse to identify potential hazards. Skills & Qualifications :
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use inventory management software. Basic math skills for counting and stock reconciliation. Physical fitness for lifting and moving goods when required. Education & Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may prefer additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management). Prior experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory control role is often preferred.
