The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their 'centres of excellence' and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
The incumbent is responsible for the day to day supervision of the reconciliations team ensuring efficient delivery of prescribed service to internal and external clients within set time frames with a high level of quality & fostering a client centric mindset throughout the team.
To ensure that any core transactional activities over a stock or cash account are monitored and discrepancies managed and reported in a timely fashion.
To ensure that the debit and credit interest applied by the sub-custodian network is effectively managed, analyzed and addressed in the most efficient manner possible.
The role also requires adequate investigations of breaks and also look at root cause analysis to drive the reduction of breaks, working closely with operations team.
Working hours : 3pm-12am / 4pm-1am Region : Europe What will you do?
Ensure daily deliverables of Cash/asset reconciliations are completed, sign-off all checklist daily to ensure staff had followed procedure and control to complete daily reconciliations.
Point of escalation for the team.
Conduct training for the team on Cash & asset reconciliation, procedural updates and process training to enhance teams knowledge on the process.
To be responsible for ensuring that reconciliations provide direct support and value to the business through initiatives that result in greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Perform root cause analysis to drive the reduction of breaks To cover manager during their absences.
Investigation of all cash and asset breaks to ensure team has correctly assigned their breaks, reduce departmental errors.
Accountable for the identification and escalation process for reconciliation breaks which may represent a financial or reputational risk to the business or clients.
Ensure weekly break analysis is perform and escalate when necessary for break that has no notes, invalid notes and aged breaks.
Responsible for updates and review of all key risk related documents.
Ensure the effective management of appropriate controls for effective management of processes, policies & procedure.
Ensure regular communication with key stakeholders & oversight team.
Produce and maintain statistical information, preparation of reports and analysis for decision making.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have 3-5 Years of financial services industry experience in an operations environment Good reconciliations knowledge Experience on Custody/Shareholder services Understanding in other functions like Entitlements, Cash Management, Transaction Management, Settlements, Fund Accounting Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize actions.
University degree in accounting/finance or business concentration or equivalent experience.
PC literate in MS Office applications Competent in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Visio Nice-to-have Competent in MS Access DB Familiar with core platforms: TLM, FOCUS, Milvus, Multifonds, SARA What's in it for you?
