We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Human Rights Officer to join our Sustainability Department.
The Human Rights Officer will play a vital supporting role in assisting the implementation of Wilmar's Human Rights Policies and in coordinating the planning, monitoring, and performance of Wilmar's Grievance Mechanism, specifically in relation to the No Deforestation, No Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE) Policy.
This role is integral to maintaining human rights standards across our operations and supply chain, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the company's commitment to responsible and ethical practices.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation of Wilmar's Human Rights Policies, ensuring compliance across the Group's operations, suppliers, joint venture partners, and business associates with the No Exploitation criteria in the NDPE policy.
Support the execution of Wilmar's Human Rights Due Diligence approach, along with other related human rights initiatives, including the Living Wage programme and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, among others.
Conduct site assessments of internal operations and supplier facilities to verify adherence to Wilmar's No Exploitation commitments, offering support for improvement where necessary.
Assist in the collection, organisation, and management of grievance documentation, ensuring that all materials are stored systematically and confidentially.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of grievances, their status, and resolutions, while adhering to legal, ethical, and transparent practices for handling sensitive information.
Assist in the analysis of grievance cases, supporting investigations of allegations and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the grievance resolution process.
Work closely with the Procurement and Sustainability departments, as well as third-party partners, stakeholders, auditors, and assessors to ensure the compliance of third-party suppliers with Wilmar's NDPE policies.
Qualifications
Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
Demonstrates high integrity, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct.
Proficient in written and verbal communication, particularly in English, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
Qualification: Education and Experience
A degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Human Rights, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in human rights, labour rights, responsible recruitment, and/or grievance mechanisms.
Familiarity with Indonesian government regulations and international standards such as RSPO, SMETA, SEDEX, and SA8000 will be considered an advantage.
