Job Summary / Purpose
The job purpose of the Packaging Development Team Lead is to successfully implement strategies and plans for innovation, cost savings, renovation, improvement, capacity and capability building with and through the package design development for Malaysia Business.
The role delivers value with his/her expertise by providing technical solutions for packaging and packaging processes, facilitating decision making, as well as coaching and mentoring.
He/she possesses interpersonal ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization to progress work; as he/she is responsible for the day-to-day management of packaging development projects, and interfaces with internal and external partners (QA, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, ESD/MRG, Brand and Sales, and Suppliers).
Key Responsibilities
Ensure support to new product launches with packaging development compliant to product, brand, regulatory and statutory requirements.
Collaborate with Product Development, Consumer Technical Insights and Marketing to conceptualize and implement consumer-focused packaging innovation and solutions capitalizing on the packaging elements that are structure, material, graphic/aesthetic and process.
Create and implement performance indicators and measures for the achievement of group business objectives that hinge on corporate goals.
Collaborate with regional counterparts to carry out programs for the harmonization of practice in the areas of business work processes, material parameters, testing, procedures and documentation.
Identify and manage budget for operations, programs and capability building initiatives.
Execute programs that would obtain, retain and develop skills to improve work performance and therefore support company growth.
Provide technical resources to internal partners (QA, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, ESD/MRG, Brand and Sales) to facilitate decision making, create action plans, or conceptualize programs.
Manage and drive progress to achieve objectives, milestones and timelines for NPDs, sustainability, renovation or continuous improvement initiatives.
Approve and ensure accuracy of documentation for testing, specifications, process parameters, bill of material references and other SAP related information.
Work with external parties and internal stakeholders to ensure robust project management, risk assessment and risk mitigation.
Decide on the appropriate technical aspects of primary/secondary/tertiary packaging to drive cost savings, robust operability on equipment, optimum shelf impact and sustainability – and hold primary accountability for these choices.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor in BS Engineering/Packaging Technology/Food Technology.
Minimum 5 years related experience.
