In the "Laboratory Workplace Automation" product team, as part of the "Digital Laboratory" product family, we continuously optimize digital solutions in the laboratory environment.
We enable automated collection of laboratory data and seamless data flows, which are an important basis for subsequent data integration and analysis.
As a Technical Consultant, you will support the operation and expansion of highly efficient laboratory data systems with a focus on chromatography (e.g., Chromeleon, Openlab) and titration (e.g., Tiamo, LabX) in collaboration with external and internal teams.
In this role, you will support and advise our partners on complex IT application issues as well as on the digitization and automation of laboratory processes.
Responsibilities and Key Outcomes
You will ensure the safe, trouble-free operation of the solutions for which you are jointly responsible.
The planning and setup of new systems will be just as much a part of your tasks as the operational support and migration of existing systems.
You will be familiar with BASF's cyber security and data protection guidelines and ensure compliance with them.
As part of a specialized internal team, you will manage external suppliers and have close contact with our internal partners.
Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience
Completed studies or training in the field of computer science, natural sciences, or a similar field (e.g., as a laboratory technician)
Minimum 2 to 3 years of related working experience
Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)
Experience in supporting chromatography data systems (CDS), titration systems, or other complex IT laboratory systems
Experience with Agile methodologies or agile implementation approaches
Curiosity, willingness to learn, improve, and develop oneself and the environment
Able to work independently
