Technical Engineer

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Infrastructure Monitoring: Oversee applications, databases, servers, storage, and network devices for optimal performance.Ensure 24x7 on-site support coverage for critical infrastructure operations.Vendor Management: Coordinate and facilitate vendor access for equipment repairs and installations within the data centre.Enforce safety regulations before external personnel enter restricted areas.Capacity and Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor capacity and system performance, initiating clean-up, reporting, or escalation as necessary.Compile and submit detailed reports on capacity and performance metrics.Incident and Case Management: Manage and resolve cases through the internal case logging system, following up on open tickets.Escalate unresolved incidents or problems to Level 2 support or external service providers.Troubleshooting and Support: Provide Level 1 troubleshooting based on established procedures and guidelines.Escalate complex issues to higher-level support for resolution.Asset Management: Conduct routine physical checks of IT assets to ensure they are in good working condition.Document and verify the status of physical assets regularly.Compliance and Safety: Enforce facility safety policies, ensuring external personnel comply with regulations before entering the data centre.Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facility.Reporting and Documentation: Generate and submit monthly reports on incidents, problems, and requests handled within the data centre.Provide updates on company capacity status and system performance metrics.Daily Walkthroughs: Perform daily inspections of IT and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) equipment to ensure operational integrity.
