Job Description
Strategy and Planning
Execute and implement the Legal strategic plan for Khazanah to ensure all activities are regulated and legitimately achieve its objectives.
Assist in monitoring and reviewing the contractual obligations or commitments by the company or subsidiaries managed by Khazanah to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Implementation and Effectiveness
Execute the drafting, negotiating, and managing legal aspects of all forms of commercial agreements, providing ongoing post-closing legal support to internal business clients to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Provide pro-active legal support to Khazanah's major entities, including counsel, advice, and interpretation on all relevant issues to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Plan and execute training programs for employees and officers of the Company on legal topics.
Performance and Management
Develop and provide templates including Non-disclosure Agreements and Terms of Engagement for use by all divisions in Khazanah.
Provide legal analyses and risk assessments, participating in business decision-making processes and providing practical, issue-focused legal advice and recommendations.
Review legal processes and procedures and make appropriate amendments to ensure relevancy to current business and operational needs.
Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement
Provide strategic recommendations regarding legal matters to the MD, DMD, senior leadership team, regional offices, and investee companies as required.
Maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties, including vendors, government, statutory bodies, and industry practitioners to support smooth corporate operations.
Job Requirements
7 – 9 years of experience as a Legal Advisor in reputable institutions or law firms.
Preferred industry exposure in Financial Services.
Preferred functional exposure in Corporate Law, Contract Law, Intellectual Property, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and under tight deadlines.
