This role is responsible for managing the quality and production performance of the material resource functions.
Ultimately, you will be developing and implementing strategies for the sourcing, operation and maintenance of materials needed for construction works by ensuring compliance with required specifications, budget goals, and timelines.
Responsibilities
Plan, assign and review material resource capacity to ensure quality outputs are produced within the stipulated timeline.
Manage material sourcing for the projects and ensure compliance with the project specifications and standards.
Coordinate material resource needs with relevant parties, including local authorities, suppliers, contractors and in-house project personnel.
Monitor the record and report of material status, and coordinate with site team to top up or reduce purchase quantity.
Monitor and report on machinery/equipment status.
Verify all goods received are in accordance with the agreed purchase, delivery note and agreed quantity.
Verify that all materials are packed, bundled and strapped down well before transfer.
Determine and obtain approval for rejected materials to be recycled or disposed of.
Monitor and control on-site yard storage to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
Manage the inventory of materials, equipment and supplies according to the established policy, to comply with the standard safety, health and environmental guidelines.
Review the relevant documentation for site operations to ensure compliance with the guidelines, requirements, and codes.
Provide technical support to other relevant operation teams when necessary.
Provide guidance, professional advice and support to the team members.
Keep abreast with market best practices and concepts for plant and machinery operations.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior and/or the management.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Building Construction,or other equivalent fields.
Minimum10 years of working experience in material resource management of constructionor related fields.
Proven experience as Manager in leading the team for material resource operations.
Solid understanding of construction processes and operation management principles.
Familiarity with standard material and technical expertise in construction industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
Good organizational and leadership skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to resolve conflicts and issues arising at site or contractual matters.
Ability to work under stress.
