The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materials and finished products.
This role involves managing inventory, optimizing workflow, maintaining safety standards, and leading a team of warehouse staff.
Warehouse Operations Management :
Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatching of raw materials, tools, and finished goods.
Implement processes to optimize space utilization and inventory handling for heavy and bulky metal products.
Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or degradation.
Team Supervision :
Assign tasks and monitor the performance of warehouse staff.
Conduct training sessions on safety, equipment handling, and standard operating procedures.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high productivity.
Inventory Control :
Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP.
Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
Monitor material usage and coordinate with procurement for reordering supplies as needed.
Health & Safety Compliance :
Enforce compliance with workplace safety regulations, particularly in handling heavy machinery and metal components.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
Ensure all warehouse equipment is well-maintained and in safe working order.
Process Improvement :
Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve warehouse operations and reduce lead times.
Collaborate with production and logistics teams to streamline workflows.
Reporting & Documentation :
Generate reports on inventory levels, warehouse efficiency, and staff performance.
Document incidents, safety inspections, and maintenance activities.
Equipment Management :
Oversee the use of forklifts, cranes, and other heavy-duty equipment for moving and storing materials.
Train employees on proper operation and safety protocols for equipment.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management are preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP).
Familiarity with handling heavy machinery like forklifts and cranes.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
