Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a certificate/diploma in the field of welding.
Preferably with at least 1-2 years working experience as a welder.
Experience or possess knowledge in TIG/MIG/FCAW/Orbital or robotic welding.
Good team player, self-motivated, and have a good teamwork spirit.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the setup of machines and material preparation based on the process drawing and material picking list.
Responsible for performing the manufacturing job based on the internal QA checksheet and external customer specification requirements.
Take full accountability to reduce material wastage, machine setup time, and run time.
Support the TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) program and work towards reducing machine downtime.
Take full accountability for SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) duties and policies.
Ensure machine run time and product output meet the targets given by the supervisor.
Ensure the workplace meets the 5's housekeeping standard.
Perform daily production reports.
Perform overtime work when requested by the supervisor.
Responsible for personal safety and safe conduct as not to endanger others or company properties.
Accountable for the TPM program and responsible for improving equipment effectiveness.
Ensure the technical team carries out their routine duties based on the departmental KPI (such as reduce wastage, increase production, improve quality).
Any other responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time by the department head.

HISTORY
UWC is fast-growing and believes strongly in transformation and diversity. UWC started as a trading company in 1990 and ventured into the mould-making business, providing metal stamping and cutting services. In 1997, we set up our first manufacturing plant in Bukit Minyak, Penang, venturing into the provision of sub-assembly services to our customers.
In the early 2000s, UWC incorporated UWC Automation and UWC Industrial to provide manufacturing of precision machined components, metal fabrication, and value-added assembly services. We also ventured into the life science, healthcare, and medical technology industries, setting up our second manufacturing plant.
