This role will be based at our operating company, HICOM Engineering Sdn Bhd (HESB) at Wisma DRB-HICOM, Glenmarie.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth in HESB core business markets both locally and internationally.Identify new market opportunities and business ventures that align with HESB's core business. Support the development of market entry strategies and business models for new regions.Oversee and coordinate business development activities across subsidiary companies, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and seamless execution of project management activities related to new business development.Drive the development and implementation of online business models to expand market reach and customer engagement.Oversee the online business strategy, identifying opportunities for digital transformation and enhancing customer experience.Monitor and assess online market trends, making recommendations to capitalise on digital growth opportunities.Manage and coordinate key business development projects, apply project management tools and methodologies to ensure smooth project execution within scope, time, and budget.Build and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, clients, and stakeholders and facilitate strategic partnerships that enhance business growth and market competitiveness.Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and market opportunities.Provide insights and recommendations to the Business Development Head to support decision-making processes.Track and analyse the performance of business development activities and projects, providing regular reports to senior management.Recommend improvements to strategies and operations based on performance data and market insights.Ensure all business development activities comply with corporate policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the automotive or related industries.Good knowledge in project management (PMP or similar) is an added advantage with strong understanding of both domestic and global market dynamic.Strong business acumen in both automotive and non-automotive sectors.Experience with e-commerce platforms and online business strategies. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams and coordinating activities across subsidiaries. Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis.Strong communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
