Assistant Sales Manager

Develop and expand business opportunities by marketing and selling the company's products, such as switchgears, transformers, control and relay panels, and other power engineering and control & automation products and services, to the domestic utility market (TNB/SEB/SESB/Contractors).Conduct market research to identify gaps and gather information on competitors.Participate in technical training, exams, product presentations, and demonstrations to achieve the required competency level set by the company.Identify and manage customer requirements, providing both pre-sales technical assistance and post-sales support.Understand and adhere to the "Sales Process Flow" and EBS processes.Prepare and compile necessary documents to comply with ISO standards, and participate in both internal and external audits.Create competitive techno-commercial proposals for tenders and inquiries, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments to obtain quotations, capacities, costings, drawings, and other necessary documents for tender submission.Negotiate special sales and contract terms before closing deals.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, potential clients, and internal teams to meet and exceed sales targets.Achieve sales targets and maximize profits for the company.Prepare weekly sales reports, monthly sales forecasts, prospect lists, and annual MTP.Attend meetings, trainings, and site visits as assigned by supervisors.Carry out tasks and duties as instructed, complying with quality, environmental, and safety rules, regulations, and codes of practiceReport any accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, or conditions to management and suggest improvements.Ensure that all provided personal protective equipment and clothing are properly used. RequirementsEducational and Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A degree in Business or Sales may be acceptable with sufficient technical experience.Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in sales or business development, particularly in the switchgear or electrical engineering industry.Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of switchgears, transformers, control panels, relays, and other electrical products.Certifications: ISO compliance knowledge and relevant technical certifications in electrical engineering or sales can be advantageous.Skills and Competencies: Sales and Business Development:o   Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in the power engineering or electrical products sector. o   Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with utility companies (like TNB/SEB/SESB), contractors, and key stakeholders. o   Experience in preparing and submitting tenders, negotiating contracts, and handling high-value deals. Technical Expertise:o   In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to switchgears, transformers, control & relay panels, and power automation. o   Ability to provide technical assistance to clients, including product demonstrations and handling post-sales queries. Project Management:o   Competence in managing multiple projects, from customer inquiry to order fulfillment, including coordination with engineering and procurement teams. o   Experience in preparing techno-commercial proposals for complex engineering products. Market and Competitor Analysis:o   Ability to conduct market surveys to identify potential business opportunities and stay informed on competitors and industry trends. Communication and Negotiation Skills:o   Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with internal teams, customers, and vendors. o   Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms in deals and contracts. Reporting and Forecasting:o   Ability to prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analyses for management review. Compliance and Safety:o   Knowledge of ISO standards, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols, and industry regulations. o   Adherence to company procedures related to quality and safety. Personal Attributes: Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor junior sales engineers or sales teams and take on leadership roles in driving business growth.Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address customer challenges and provide effective solutions.Self-Motivation and Initiative: Proactive in pursuing new leads, staying current on industry developments, and consistently working toward sales goals.Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to handle dynamic market conditions and changing client demands.Other Requirements: Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities.Languages: Fluency in English is essential; additional languages, particularly relevant to the region (e.g., Bahasa Malaysia), are beneficial.IT and Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and relevant engineering tools for product configuration and sales processes. BenefitsBenefitsOutpatient General Medical treatment at Company's appointed panel clinics for employee and immediate family (non-working spouse and children) up to a maximum limit of RM1,000 per financial year.Reimbursement for Dental & Optical expenses up to a maximum limit of RM 200.00 per financial year.Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance covering death & permanent disablement due to accidental causes. The sum insured is based on 24 months basic salary.Group Hospitalization & Surgical (GHS) Insurance covering employee only, based on the plan as stated in the Company's handbook & insurance policy.Confirmed employee is entitled for reimbursement for outpatient Specialist Medical treatment for employee only up to a maximum limit of RM1,000 per financial year. Annual Leave:1ST– 2ND YEAR OF SERVICE           – 14 days3RD – 4TH YEAR OF SERVICE          – 16 days5TH – 6TH YEAR OF SERVICE          – 18 days7TH  YEAR & ABOVE                     – 21 daysPaid Sick Leave in each calendar year shall be:14 days : If employed for less than 2 years18 days : If employed for 2 years or more but less than 5 years;22 days : If employed for 5 years or more; orIn the event of hospitalisation, 60 days in aggregate – but any paid sick leave taken must be deducted from the 60 days.
