Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
The Contract Specialist role is envisioned to oversee end-to-end management of increasingly complex Enterprise contract management.
This generally includes oversight of the process which are typically made up of contract review and analysis, development of specific standards and document management.
Contract specialist requires close collaboration with other departments and stakeholders, such as Sales, Product, Legal, Commercial, Pricing, etc.Lead and establish overall Contract review and governance framework, develop key performance KPIs across all relevant functions in order to achieve business objectives while having a balanced view and approach on commercial and contractual risk.In line with the corporate business objective for the Enterprise Division, the job holder will contribute to financial targets and create a differentiation for Maxis Business.
What are you accountable for?
Systematic organization standards in end-to-end drafting, reviewing and executing contractual provisions from pre to post sales in a wide variety of Enterprise customer contracts or documents, with emphasis on balanced risk management, integrity and compliance and meeting laws and regulatory obligations.
Support Enterprise bid participation in contractual and compliance documents to ensure on-time submissions, including ensuring risks are identified, communicated, and managed from a commercial and contractual perspective.
Review, track and manage the implementation and enforcement of contracts, as well as ensuring internal compliance to processes and governance framework established, including to establish framework as and when required.
Main point of contact for internal stakeholders and be the subject matter expert by developing working knowledge to lead in advisory on Enterprise internal and external contractual matters to manage strategy for deviations and balanced risks management.
Evaluate enterprise contracting processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions, e.g.
review or report automation etc.
and drive a plan to improve and optimise effectiveness of team function.
Main point of contact for Related Party Transaction (RPT) matters which includes RPT approval applications, internal coordination for internal awareness programs and maintains Enterprise RPT compliance.
What do you need to have for this role?
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B).
Being called to the Bar is an added advantage.
Minimum 7-10 years of relevant working experience
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to draft documents in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage
Exhibits strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
Has experience in contract lifecycle management
Ability to provide a balanced view to achieve commercial objectives while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
Negotiate and draft service / operational contracts.
Experience in technology contracts will be favorably considered.
Dynamic and high energy individual with strong business and commercial acumen, and understand basics of finance and marketing
Manage large volume of contracts with minimal supervision
Good understanding of contracting and risk issue, with ability to provide recommendations to mitigate such risk
Strategic thinker with planning and problem solving skills
