Description
We are looking for a Custom Compliance Specialist to be responsible for performing Custom and Compliance processing for Zalora Cluster.
This role is based in Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a strong working relationship with Custom officials and other government agencies in Malaysia and act as their primary contact.
Be well versed in Public Bonded Warehouse and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) regulations.
Monitor and keep up to date with all regulatory & legislative changes in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines within the footwear, apparel, and beauty industry to ensure the Company is compliant with regulations, as well as taking advantage of all available programs.
Support any Customs audits and be in charge of the renewal of both the Public Bonded Warehouse license and AEO license.
Manage the Company's Compliance programs (i.e., carry out internal audits).
Provide guidance to the Company's Custom Brokerage team and Daily Import operations team in order to provide best-in-class service and duty & tax saving opportunities.
Coordinate with internal departments to implement any internal changes required due to new regulations enforced.
Provide Custom expertise to the inter-company teams whenever there is a new business model or initiative.
Perform other duties as required/assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related fields.
More than 5 years of progressive freight forwarding and/or supply chain experience with ocean and air products.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
