Job Summary:
The ELV Technician is responsible for providing first-level support for various ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems within the hospital. This includes CCTV, door access systems, public address (PA) systems, data/wifi/PABX systems, SMATV systems, and other electrical support systems. The technician ensures the smooth operation and reliability of these systems to support hospital operations and security.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Hospital setting with on-site responsibilities.
- Hours: Full-time, with possible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duty as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities: CCTV System Support:
- Monitor and maintain CCTV systems.
- Perform routine checks and troubleshooting.
- Respond to and resolve issues promptly.
Door Access System:
- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic door access systems.
- Ensure system integrity and security.
- Provide access control support to staff.
Public Address (PA) System:
- Monitor and maintain PA systems.
- Perform regular testing and troubleshooting.
- Support emergency announcements and other communications.
Data/WiFi/PABX Systems:
- Provide first-level support for data networks, WiFi, and PABX systems.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity and communication issues.
- Coordinate with IT for advanced support when necessary.
SMATV System:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Satellite Master Antenna Television (SMATV) systems.
- Ensure high-quality signal distribution throughout the facility.
General Electrical Support:
- Provide Level 1 support for other electrical systems as needed.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues.
Documentation:
- Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Compile and document all issues raised by the client in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with vendors for technical support and warranty claims.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in ELV systems are an advantage.
