General Manager Distribution Centre

Job Description Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Leadership: 1.
  Lead and direct the overall operations of the distribution center, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
2.
  Develop and implement best practices and strategies to improve warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management.
3.
  Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
4.
  Collaborate with other senior management to optimize the end-to-end supply chain.
Operations Management: 1.
  Oversee the day-to-day distribution center activities, including receiving, warehousing, picking, packing, and shipping.
2.
  Ensure accurate inventory management, minimal stock outs, and reduction of excess stock.
3.
  Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
4.
  Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the distribution center.
Process Improvement & Efficiency: 1.
  Analyze and optimize workflows to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products.
2.
  Implement new technologies and automation systems to enhance operational efficiencies.
3.
  Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the supply chain and distribution process.
4.
  Manage costs and budgets for the distribution center and identify areas for cost-saving opportunities.
Team Development & Staff Management: 1.
  Build and manage a skilled and motivated team of warehouse and logistics personnel.
2.
  Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching, and create career development opportunities for staff.
3.
  Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the workforce.
   Stakeholder Management: 1.
  Work closely with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
2.
  Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including third-party logistics providers, to ensure effective and timely product distribution.
3.
  Liaise with senior management and report on operational performance, challenges, and improvements.
Quality Control & Compliance: 1.
  Ensure that all products meet quality standards and are handled in compliance with company policies.
2.
  Regularly review operational processes and work to eliminate inefficiencies, risks, and errors.
3.
  Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and international distribution regulations and standards.
Requirements Qualifications: ·   Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
·   At least 8-10 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or operations management, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
·   Strong knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse operations, and logistics.
·   Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple stakeholders across a complex operational environment.
·   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
·   Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
·   Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and other supply chain tools.
·   Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards related to warehousing and logistics.
·   MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
·   Lean or Six Sigma certification.
·   Experience in the FMCG industry or with large-scale distribution operations.
