GENERAL MANAGER - ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICSPosition Overview:
The General Manager - Electrical will lead our electrical operations, focusing on safety, electrical maintenance, projects, and energy efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in electrical engineering, project management, contractor management, and a proven track record in energy efficiency initiatives, including handling roof solar systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical maintenance of three manufacturing facilities in Malaysia.
Oversee the maintenance of induction furnaces, Shaft furnace and associated electrical systems.
Lead a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and best practices.
Manage industrial automation systems, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, DC drives, and inverters.
Maintain 33kV power distribution systems, transformers, and LV systems.
Execute projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
Design and implement energy efficiency programs, leveraging proven methodologies to reduce consumption and improve sustainability.
Manage contractors effectively to ensure quality and safety standards.
Stay updated on energy markets and electricity-related regulations to support business strategy.
Operationalize new production plants, integrating advanced electrical systems and technologies with a focus on reliability and energy efficiency.
Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Engage with external stakeholders, including authorities and government agencies.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters in Electrical engineering from a top-tier university.
20+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 10 years handling induction furnaces.
At least 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation systems, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, DC drives, and inverters.
Hands-on experience with 33kV power distribution systems up to LV systems.
Proven people management skills and experience leading diverse teams.
At least five years of in-depth experience in the SAP plant maintenance module.
Familiarity with energy markets and electricity-related supply acts.
Passionate about technology, with a track record of thriving in fast-paced environments.
Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional engineer.
Working experience in non-ferrous metal processing industry.
Exposure to regional energy markets.
Experience in mission-critical systems within high-tech and high-volume business environments.
