Job ResponsibilitiesEstablish, implement and ensure compliance with procedures, policies and guidelines for credit risk functions.
Supervise or conduct credit reviews to grade loans and ascertain the actions and provisions required.
Prepare and/or review regular and ad-hoc reports on credit activities, e.g., to BNM, Parent Company, and Senior Management.
Participate as a chairman/member of the Credit & Loan Committee by providing a constructive review of credit applications.
Monitor the quality of the loans and take necessary actions to safeguard the bank's position.
Manage credit administration and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Ensure that activities related to the function comply with relevant Acts, guidelines, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
Manage credit evaluation functions and conduct site visits to ensure that proper/objective risk management is practiced to protect the Bank's interest.
Assess, monitor, and manage the overall risk of the Bank, including Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Operational Risk.
Manage human resources within the department, e.g., establishing staff requirements, job specifications, job descriptions, performance appraisal standards, job assignments and rotation, continuous coaching, training, and counseling of staff.
Identify the needs and ensure proper management of other resources such as office space, office equipment, furniture and fittings, computers, security and safety systems, stationery, etc.
Adhere to and ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, and guidelines listed in the Anti-Money Laundering Operations Manual and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2001.
