Familiar with power plant engineering design, operation concept and philosophy. Designing C&I systems for power generation and energy facilities, including gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG and other balanced of plant system (BOP) etc. Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications. Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integration with overall plant design. Designing instrumentation systems tailored to specific power generation and energy applications. This includes selecting appropriate sensors, transmitters, control valves, and other instruments based on project requirements Implement instrumentation and control systems, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, TELEMATRY, and field instrumentation. Develop control strategies and algorithms to optimize process performance and ensure regulatory compliance. Ensuring that the power plant C&I systems design comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations. Participating in safety audits, conducting risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate hazards. Specify, procure, and commission instrumentation and control equipment from suppliers and contractors. Evaluating vendor proposals including data and drawings, selecting appropriate control systems & instruments, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and prudent utility best practice standards. Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of the C&I systems.  Coordinating with client, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure adherence to design requirements and safety protocols. Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for C&I design and maintenance. Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe and reliable operation of the C&I systems. Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems and associated hardware/software. Managing the assigned tasks and be responsible for delivering satisfactory result under tight timeline, and willing to work beyond normal working hours if required. If required, be assigned for site supervision or site residential role and be able to work under harsh site conditions. Workplace Health & Safety: Ensures good health is maintained through safe work practices. To undertake other assignment from the Engineering Manager, Project Manager or Regional Director from time to time. Job Specification Electrical Engineering degree, Instrumentation Engineering, or Control Engineering from reputable university, Master degree holder will have added advantage. At least 15 years post graduate working experience in the power generation industry with proven track record at least with energy and power plant design, construction and consultancy works.  Candidate with gas/thermal power and other renewable energy (solar, wind, biogas, biomass, WTE etc) project experience will have added advantage. Conversant in API, IP, NEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA NEMA, and ANSI codes & standards Registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) with Board of Engineers Malaysia is preferred. Proficiency in control system design software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or ControlLogix preferred. Knowledge of instrumentation principles, control system architectures, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC). Proficiency in PLC programming, DCS configuration, and SCADA/HMI design development. Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) design and SIL assessment methodologies and cybersecurity. Able to perform well under tight timeline and fast pace moving environment and multi-tasking ability with good self-discipline and working under minimum supervision as individual contributor or part of a cross functional team. Good spoken and written English. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment. Willing to travel or to be based at outstation or at project site (local or overseas) as required.
