Barnes Aerospace , a business of Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B) is an international manufacturer of precision-machined and fabricated components and assemblies for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) turbine engine, airframe and industrial gas turbine builders throughout the world, and for the military. Barnes Aerospace also provides jet engine component overhaul and repair (MRO) services for many of the world's major turbine engine manufacturers, commercial airlines and the military. Additionally, we manufacture aerospace aftermarket spare parts and provide repair services for aerospace engine components. Barnes Aerospace provides a total solutions package to our customers that leverages the synergies between our OEM and MRO businesses to address complex aerospace customer needs and support products through the entire lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities: Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engine manuals, OEM SPM's, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to meet job specifications. Set up tooling, fixture and operate CNC Turning/Milling machines. Check and ensure work piece datum points are properly identified and located on the fixture or chuck. Align fixtures and cutting tools. Set specified rotation speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Machine part while monitoring cutting action of machine to detect excessive wear or malfunction. Use indicators, vernier calipers, micrometers and gauges to check work and verify conformance of finished part to specifications. Ensure all jobs are completed within the scheduled time. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Perform on machine dimension inspection as required. Perform TPM'S. Assist and interact with other department and engineering personnel during the course of duties. Able to perform simple programming and troubleshooting when problem arise. Report to management in the event of non-conformance of components. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties. Report non-conformance of parts, paper work, equipment, tooling or materials to the immediate supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area such as 6S, sort, label, and store tooling/equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 3-5 years CNC machining experience in an aerospace environment Experienced with HMC & VMC or Okuma LU45, turning & milling Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask and good communications skills. Able to operate independently without supervision Able work rotating shift Education Requirements: Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing)/ or Machining Certification from an accredited trade college or Vocational school equivalent.
