ResponsibilitiesLead procurement team in Malaysia and challenge the status quo with the aim of continuous improvement in terms of overall competitiveness (cost, service, quality, technology) across spend categories in scope.
A true manager who runs & develops together with the team members andmanages APAC regional Raw Materialcategory spend; potentially, cross-country management.
Refresh, drive and execute procurement team roadmap and strategy in line with regional procurement goals and strategies, including managing supply risks to ensure undisrupted productions across all sites supplied.
Procurement Business Partner for Liquid Resin Additives (LRA) : act as a conduit between the Procurement function and the business – boost communication; translate and embed suitable procurement strategy to facilitate business goals.
Define transformational & structural sourcing opportunities to facilitate productivity savings, vendor consolidation and cash flow optimization.
Drive excellence in procurement in the country, and contribute to corporate agendas on Sustainability and Digitalization.
Challenge tactics and methods of transactions with new sourcing options, open dialogues, and smart & effective communication with all peers, counterparts and stakeholders.
Required skills and experience5 years of sourcing experience in the chemicals industry; coatings experience is a plus.
Procurement experience can be partially compensated by equivalent business, commercial, or technical experiences in the chemicals industry.
A savvy and practical leader, experienced in managing people in a matrix organization across AP with diversity.
Strong understanding of petrochemicals feedstocks and raw materials markets, including supply-demand balances and supplier cost drivers.
Experienced in managing fine chemicals (broader categories) with complex and fragmented spend from both Direct from vendor-wise. Indirect (incl. logistics) experience is a plus.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills including proficiency in Excel and pivot tables.
SAP experience required.
Highly effective communicator, with strong influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a bonus.
Willing and able to travel domestically & internationally.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or related field.
