R&D ManagerJob Description:Connect Energy partners with one of the biggest transmission and distribution system companies to look for the following position to be based in their office in KL, Malaysia.
ResponsibilitiesManaging medium voltage products for AIS & GIS sections to meet industry standards and quality.
Providing technical support and compliance to customers' requirements.
Controlling and monitoring new design schedules to ensure designs are accurately aligned to the middle schedule.
Controlling and managing development budget and progress by ensuring product development timeframes and product cost competitiveness are achieved.
Ensuring product development specifications are aligned to the latest trends & technology in the market.
Extensive coordination with the type test design team for effective countermeasure directives and quick response solutions to optimize the type test shift strategy.
Responsible for the industrialization of AIS & GIS.
Managing the relevant product development for double tax exemption.
Managing lab maintenance, equipment repair, and calibration.
Carrying out general managerial roles to ensure compliance with the Company's policies, developing talent capability via training to ensure effective use of the Company's assets, establishing good internal & external relationships and communication, and being a good role model.
RequirementsDegree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 7 years experience in switchgear design & development jobs or mechanical / electromechanical design & development jobs.
Rich experience in switchgear full development cycle (AIS/GIS) - in-depth working principles of key operation entities such as switching components, draw out components, circuit breaking devices, enclosure structures, and grade levels against IP rating and IAF.
In-depth understanding of International standards relevant to design and development of switchgear / key components, and providing precise interpretation for clarification of design concepts and direction.
Advanced level in drawing drafting standards & practical geometry tolerance.
Advanced level in switchgear design methodology, calculation, and analysis.
Advanced level in design for manufacturability, switchgear design standards, switchgear-related engineering knowledge, switchgear routine, and type testing.
Excellent technical project & overall team management skills.
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
Advanced knowledge of local & overseas market requirements.
Proficient in analytical & communication skills.
