Our client is a newly established factory located in Kulim, scheduled to launch by end of December, specializing in the production of paper packaging products for export. With a strong focus on serving international markets, particularly in the United States, the company is set to grow rapidly. By March 2025, the factory is projected to employ approximately 300 workers, supporting its mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions to global clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization during its growth phase and contribute to its success on the international stage.About The RoleAs the Senior HR Executive, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing the company's human resource strategies to support business objectives. This role is key to building a high-performing workforce while ensuring full compliance with labor laws and regulations. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, lead HR initiatives, and align them with the company's operational goals. Core responsibilities include recruitment, performance management, industrial relations, and cultivating a positive and productive workplace culture.
What you'll be doingHR Strategy:Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals while ensuring compliance with the Employment Act 1955 and local regulations.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:Oversee labor compliance, including reporting to LHDN and JTK, while ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee documentation, contracts, and personal records.
HR Operations Management:Manage recruitment processes from workforce planning to onboarding, while overseeing salary structures, benefits, disciplinary policies, employee attendance, working hours, and payroll processing.
Performance Management & Development:Plan and implement employee training, performance evaluations, career growth initiatives, and engagement activities to foster skill development and a positive work culture.
Industrial Relations:Resolve employee conflicts, guide managers on employee relations, and manage communication with labor unions or employee representatives as needed.
Health & Safety:Ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental standards while supporting safety training and risk management initiatives in the workplace.
Support for Plant Operations:Develop workforce strategies to meet production targets and provide HR support to management on operational challenges by partnering with service vendors.
What we're looking forPossess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM or CIPD) are an advantage.
Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in the manufacturing sector.
Proven expertise in industrial relations and labor law compliance.
Mandarin speaking skill is required to deal with Chinese counterparts.
Good-to-knowThis is an export-based paper packaging factory that aims to have around 300 workers by March 2025, you will work with an outsourced vendor on contract workers.
You will be involved in setting up the HR department, by drafting and designing the policies and salary structure.
You will have very high opportunity to become senior management team by being part of the pre-opening team that works closely with the founding team directly.
You will be involved in helping the founding team to set up the necessary paperwork for HR and the company, that will involve dealing with different government authorities during the beginning stage.
