Job Description
Lead the NCM process for incoming materials to identify and address deviations from specifications.
Collaborate on the CAPA process to quantify defect rates and implement effective supplier actions.
Partner with product development, Supplier Quality Engineer, and Procurement to define or update material specifications.
Coordinate with Technical Project Engineers, Process Engineers, and Manufacturing teams to ensure materials meet all specifications and compliance standards before production.
Ensure IPQC and OQA procedures align with specifications, controls, and inspection requirements.
Develop and update IQA & OQA control plans based on material specifications.
Maintain inspection records and traceability for incoming materials.
Provide manufacturing quality guidance to IQA & OQA Technicians and Inspectors, collaborating with Supplier Quality Engineers and Process Engineers.
Manage metrology capabilities for IQA & OQA functions and ensure proper calibration.
Monitor and implement IQA & OQA actions based on yield, failure analysis, and SPC/Cpk studies.
Ensure production and quality processes comply with procedures, leading improvements from audit findings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Design and implement quality processes, inspection, and testing systems to achieve consistent quality outcomes.
Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to enhance defect reporting and tracking systems.
Partner with Materials Engineering, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing to reduce yield losses.
Support R&D in managing non-standard material requests and special projects.
The Successful Applicant
Preferably a Master's or PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or substantial experience in Quality Engineering.
Proficiency in developing and overseeing inspection processes for incoming materials.
Skilled in creating control plans and maintaining inspection records for traceability.
Proven ability to generate and manage NCM reports to resolution.
Experience in reviewing incoming inspection quality records and reporting metrics.
Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing and inspection systems.
Strong data analysis skills using Excel, SQL, and statistical tools like Minitab or JMP.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for hands-on problem-solving and solution development.
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions.
Strong attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
Familiarity with electrochemistry, active materials, and portable energy solutions is advantageous.
