Responsible for on-time delivery per request to ensure supply continuity and maintain inventory control at a reasonable level. The position requires monitoring and driving improvements in suppliers' performance, maintaining effective internal and external communication, and strengthening AE's business relationships with suppliers. Duties include, but are not limited to, achieving favorable results, maintaining systems accurately and timely, and completing tasks within required time periods. This role provides assistance in various purchasing assignments and planning for lower to medium value production materials under limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews Business Requirements Planning (BRP) Report and analyzes suggested orders and/or alterations.
Educates suppliers on performance measurements and continuous improvements.
Evaluates and monitors supplier quality and delivery performance against corporate zero defects and on-time delivery objectives, working with related teams to improve performance.
Develops a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quantity and quality requirements and within established standard costs.
Gains in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities/suppliers, technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries to effectively expedite results.
Purchases parts/materials using Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI), negotiation, contracts, cost analysis, price analysis, and internal/external technical expertise.
Establishes and strengthens good business relationships with suppliers and internal customers; works closely with planning and demand teams to understand real demand fluctuations and proactively address changes.
Maintains good communication with suppliers via daily emails, phone calls, or conference calls when delivery, DMR, GR, quality, payment, or other issues arise until resolved properly.
Responsible for maintaining systems accurately and timely; completes purchasing assignments within required timeframes.
Keeps inventory at reasonable levels through negotiations with suppliers, including pushing out, rescheduling, or canceling open orders.
Adheres to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
Works and coordinates on NPI activities with the NPI Project Team.
Involved in NPI parts execution and includes all RMA/DMR to suppliers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.).
Travel may be required infrequently.
Fast-paced and pressurized environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum six (6) to eight (8) years of working experience in manufacturing or new product introduction environments.
Good knowledge of SAP.
Experience managing/supporting projects as a coordinator or leader of a commodity group.
Preferably several years of experience in handling PCBA purchases or HLA (Higher Level Assembly) purchases.
Familiar with procurement systems and procedures; able to make reasonable recommendations for improvements and enhance communication/business dealings.
Demonstrates strong communication, coordination, and supervisory capabilities.
Supports the purchasing manager in driving team results.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing/Logistics/Material Management, or equivalent education and/or experience.
