Job Description
Lead and supervise the preparation of corporate tax computations, tax returns, and related tax filings in compliance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
Review tax computations, financial statements, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax reporting.
Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information, resolve tax queries, and address regulatory requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
Advise and guide clients on a wide range of corporate income tax matters, including advisory engagements.
Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional tax services, demonstrating expertise, and providing proactive support and advice.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on tax issues, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests with professionalism and integrity.
Identify opportunities to add value to client engagements and contribute to their overall success through strategic tax planning, advisory services, and thought leadership.
Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional development and enhance their technical skills.
Lead by example, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the tax team and across the firm.
Participate in performance evaluations, career development discussions, and succession planning initiatives to nurture talent and build a high-performing tax team.
Assist with any other ad hoc assignments assigned.
Job Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, MICPA, CITIM is preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax compliance and advisory services, with a focus on corporate taxation, preferably in a professional services firm.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a managerial role (manager).
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to corporate taxation, including familiarity with tax incentives and advisory.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret tax laws and provide practical solutions to clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and BrassTax software application is an added advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, and collaborate with clients, colleagues, and senior management.
Leadership qualities, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
