About the Role
Based out of Kuala Lumpur, the Business Development Manager for South East Asia is instrumental in developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for the all-new, all-in-one, AI-powered CisionOne media monitoring platform, which supports Public Relations and Corporate Communications (PRCC) professionals.
Your contributions will directly impact our company's success and the adoption of our innovative solutions.
You will be at the forefront of introducing sophisticated technology to media teams, illuminating how CisionOne can transform their media strategies and operational efficiency.
Your core objectives will include driving robust sales growth and broadening our market footprint strategically and sustainably.
This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with PR, Communications, and Media stakeholders within leading corporate and, eventually, government entities, inspiring you to bring your best to the table.
You will delve into understanding these professionals' unique challenges and aspirations, leveraging this insight to craft and propose customised media intelligence solutions that align with their goals.
Through your efforts, the CisionOne platform will become an integral tool for these organisations, enhancing their capabilities and contributing to their success.
Your role is South East Asia-focused and target-focused.
The key is fostering long-term partnerships and bolstering the platform's reputation as a leader in media monitoring solutions, which should make you proud and motivated.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Targeting PR, Communications, and Media Managers and their respective organisations.
Proactively identifying and engaging with new leads through innovative, creative outreach strategies.
Cultivating leads through well-considered and localised efforts.
Maximising Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR)/revenue opportunities.
Collaborating with an existing Account Management function to seamlessly support and transition new customers.
Seeking to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform sales strategies and approaches.
Updating the CRM and providing regular updates and reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to Streem's Managing Director and Cision's CisionOne President.
Undertaking any other duties or projects as determined by the Company occasionally.
Skills You'll Need
For a Kuala Lumpur-based Business Development Manager (BDM), proficiency in the following three languages would be highly beneficial:
English: Proficiency Level: High fluency in speaking, reading, and writing is crucial.
Malay (Bahasa Malaysia): Proficiency Level: Good speaking, reading, and writing command is essential for building relationships.
Mandarin: Proficiency Level: Conversational and reading proficiency is ideal, with writing being a bonus.
The following skills are also required:
5-8 years of consultative sales experience is ideal.
Bachelors or Master's degree in Communications/Media/Public Relations or another relevant field are preferred.
Strong customer-facing skills with a focus on solution-selling and genuine relationship-building, and the ability to take initiative and adapt to changing situations.
A strong interest in SaaS platforms and/or media/communications and a demonstrated background in subscription/technology/digital-based product sales.
Strong ability to speak compellingly over the phone and present via screen share.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with prospects and clients.
Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
Keen personal interest in the Australian Media Landscape.
Media/news/content experience is highly advantageous.
