Overview:
As the Supply Chain Director at Sibelco, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain operations within your designated regional or sub-regional area.
Leading a team of Country Supply Chain Managers, you will drive efficiency, optimize costs, and ensure the seamless flow of materials across various transportation modes, including road, rail, sea, and intermodal logistics.
This role reports to the Vice President of Global Supply Chain and will be based in the APAC SubRegional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Scope of Work:
Strategic Supply Chain Management:
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize supply chain performance, enhance operational efficiency, and drive cost savings across transportation modes.
• Collaborate with senior management to define regional supply chain objectives, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and establish benchmarks for measuring progress and success.
Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and mentor a team of Country Supply Chain Managers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and regional priorities.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the supply chain organization.
Logistics Cost Management:
• Manage the logistics costs budget for the geographical perimeter under your responsibility, overseeing expenditures related to various transportation modes.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable contracts with logistics service providers, and implement measures to optimize transportation spend.
Transportation Network Optimization:
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the transportation network, identifying opportunities to streamline routes and improve asset utilization.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the reliability and sustainability of the transportation network.
Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies governing transportation and logistics.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with transportation.
Hiring Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a focus on transportation logistics.
Demonstrated leadership experience in driving organizational change.
Proficient in supply chain planning and execution systems, transportation management software, and data analytics tools.
Proven ability to manage budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in both written and spoken English; local language ability is an advantage.
